How We Work with Higher Education Entities & Emerging Adults

The higher education recovery coordinator is the main point of contact for anyone in higher education, partnering with strategically placed treatment placement specialists across the country to provide treatment access and guidance to students and families struggling with behavioral health issues. With access to a national network of vetted and preferred treatment facilities that offer treatment tracks and programs designed for emerging adults, our higher education recovery coordinator and team of specialists can serve as liaisons to those in post-secondary educational environment and link them to care that best meets their individual needs.

How We Serve You

As the Treatment Placement Specialists team, we are dedicated to being a partner in bringing about wellness and enhanced resilience to students on college campuses. We have over a decade of experience in providing treatment to higher education communities and connecting students and emerging adults to programs that are designed specifically for their population. Working with our higher education recovery coordinator and network of specialists includes the following services:

  • Collaboration on determining best practice for mental health initiatives on campuses
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment guidance and placement
  • Vetting of local and national programs to determine competence
  • Continuing care planning and re-immersion into campus life

Levels of Care for Emerging Adults

Our team across the country is equipped to work with this population and can triage treatment cases for trauma, substance abuse treatment and detox, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues, including eating disorders. The levels of care we refer to most often include:

  • Residential Treatment
  • Detoxification & Stabilization
  • Outdoor Adventure-Based Treatment
  • Eating Disorder Recovery
  • Outpatient Care: IOP and PHP Treatment

We work to establish a community of wellness to mitigate educational losses and missteps such as failing courses or withdrawing from courses altogether due to behavioral health issues.  With case managers and others on campus, we ignite healing and increase retention rates, and ensure emerging adults make the most of this season in life.

Who We Work With

We realize when it comes to providing treatment, there are more groups and individuals involved than just the patient. As Treatment Placement Specialists®, we have experience working with many professionals on university and college campuses. These include:

  • Vice President for Student Affairs/Student Life
  • Deans of Students
  • Associate and Assistant Deans of Student Affairs/Student Life
  • General Counsel
  • Case Managers/Care Managers
  • Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
  • Residence Life

Working with Families

We know the confusion and concerns regarding treatment that can be raised among family members. Therefore, we make ourselves available to answer questions especially those parents may have, and acknowledge and address any concerns around treatment itself or programs that are advised by the Treatment Placement Specialists®.

Our goal is to ensure life-changing recovery occurs while in treatment. Therefore, we want to make sure all questions and hesitancy are addressed prior to entering a program so that emerging adults can get all of the benefits of their time in treatment.
