When a patient or client needs a more structured or intensive level of treatment than his or her current therapist or counselor can provide, the effort to identify an optimal program can be difficult and time-intensive. Acadia Healthcare’s team of Treatment Placement Specialists (TPS) can make this process more efficient and effective. The TPS team has the experience and resources to make connections that can allow individuals to get the help they need.

The members of the TPS team work as advisors to referring professionals, helping to ensure that they have the information that they need in order to make the best treatment decisions for the adolescents and adults in their care. TPS team members serve counselors, therapists, doctors, and other professionals by collecting pertinent client/patient information, conducting diligent research, and identifying the programs that provide the type and level of care that best fits the specific needs of the client or patient.

We are happy to work with treatment professionals to ensure that the adolescents and adults that they are treating receive the best possible care when it is time to refer out for more intensive services, and we can facilitate care coordination by directly connecting clients to centers’ treatment teams

Of course, treatment and recovery do not end with discharge from a residential treatment center. Instead, the journey toward improved mental health and long-term sobriety often involves many steps and many different levels of care. The TPS team can help coordinate these levels of care to ensure that individuals in treatment can sustain and build upon previous progress during transitions between types of treatment.

Treatment Placement Specialists work with professionals whose clients and patients are experiencing any number of issues that can be captured under the umbrella of behavioral health. The TPS team has access to programs that can accommodate a range of financial and insurance needs.

If for any reason the TPS team does not have a direct connection to an optimal program for a person who is seeking treatment, they will provide recommendations outside of their network to ensure that the individual seeking services gets the help that he or she needs.

The TPS team can place individuals who are struggling with a wide range of mental health disorders and substance abuse problems, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Substance use disorders
  • Depressive disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Medical stabilization

The TPS team also has access to programs that provide a range of services, including the following:

  • Medical detox
  • Residential care
  • Neuropsychological testing
  • Outdoor adventure-based treatment
  • Complex pain

To learn more about the TPS program, or to speak with a TPS representative about someone who is currently in your care, please feel free to contact us by phone or email. We look forward to providing you with the information that you need to make the best decision for your client or patient.
